    New in an opened box, this die cast metal coin bank
    of a 1918 Ford Runabout
    was made
    in 1988
    by Ertl for The COASTAL FARM AND RANCH SUPPLY Company. Licensed by the Ford Motor Company.
    Considered the sportiest model T, the 1918 Ford Runabout was fitted with numerous bodies which included a box, oil tank and barrel styles.  Box bodies (aka, this issue) were occasionally installed installed in place of the stock rear deck.  They weighed nearly 200 pounds, featured double rear doors, and were often employed for cold and frozen item distribution, such as pond ice harvested by hand cut sawing methods and distributed in the Spring, i.e. early "refrigerator ice."
